MONKEY BREAD RECIPE
If you’ve ever been to one of our weekend brunches you’ve probably ordered or thought about ordering monkey bread. So, you might be wondering…what exactly is monkey bread? The best way to describe it is a french toast pull apart bread. It sounds amazing right? Well, it is. And since we can’t serve it for the time being we’ve decided to give you the recipe so you can make it at home.
Ingredients:
6 bolillo bread cut in small pieces
1 can coconut milk
1 banana
2 Tbsp vegan butter
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tofu bar
½ cup granulated sugar
DIRECTIONS:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 or 10 inch pan.
- Mix white sugar, cinnamon, coconut milk, banana, butter and tofu in a bowl.
- Cut bolillo into quarters. Arrange pieces in the bottom of the prepared pan and pour mix over the bolillo bread, let it sit for 10 minutes.
- Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 35 minutes. Then, let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a plate. Do not cut! The bread just pulls apart.
